CALCULATING A FAIR RENT REDUCTION:

- Request 20% reduction until resolved

Method 2: Comparable Market Analysis
- Research rents for similar units without the defect
- Request the difference between your rent and comparable units

Method 3: Impact Assessment
- Minor inconvenience: 5-10% reduction
- Moderate impact (partial room unusable): 15-25% reduction
- Major impact (health/safety issue): 25-50% reduction
